"Training for the REAL World"
Law Enforcement / Corrections
LEADS (Law Enforcement Advanced Defensive Systems)
Law enforcement officers are constantly exposed to violence. Since 1999, almost 60,000 officers have been assaulted each year according to FBI statistics. More than 80% of the assaults involved personal weapons (hands, fist or feet). While academy training is good, it is not sufficient. Defensive tactics instructors provide minimal training to their units. Martial Arts training is readily available but it rarely meets the needs of law enforcement professionals who are under constant surveillance.
The LEADS courses are designed specifically for law enforcement / correction professionals focusing on how to handle aggressive assailants. The courses focus on controlling violent actions with minimal force to protect the individual and avoid litigation. There are four key principles that are taught in the hands on training classes: skeletal locking, blending/connection, posture/presence and grounding.
The LEADS series begins with awareness, avoidance and de-escalation and progresses through controlling techniques and post conflict resolution. They can be taken separately or in a series of units depending on need.
